If you go down in the woods today ...

If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down in the woods today, you'd better go in disguise.
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

Every Teddy Bear who's been good is sure of a treat today.
There's lots of marvellous things to eat and wonderful games to play.
Beneath the trees where nobody sees they'll hide and seek as long as they please
'Cause that's the way the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

If you go down in the woods today, you'd better not go alone.
It's lovely down in the woods today, but safer to stay at home.
For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

Picnic time for Teddy Bears, the little Teddy Bears are having a lovely time today.
Watch them, catch them unawares, and see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily gad about, they love to play and shout, they never have any care.
At six o'clock their Mummies and Daddies will take them home to bed,
Because they're tired little Teddy Bears.

No Muddle Headed Wombat?

I did not grow up with MHW as my parents were not ABC listeners. The next two Australian classics on my list are S&C and TMP.

But, I am partial to starting precedents, so will read a couple of MHW books next time I am in Dymocks.

Now I've got that song in my head. Cute shot. Have you tried any Mem Fox books, especially Possum Magic?

There are some books that I am NOT to buy, as mother wants to buy them. PM is one such, as is Where the Wild Things Are, and a few others. I got rapped over the knuckles for getting Ten Little Fingers, Ten Little Toes which is another Mem Fox book.

Yes, I had that song in my head all the way home, too.

We are having an expanded Mothers' Day this year down at SeaSalt in Clovelly in honour of Kirsten joining the club.

Golly gosh all this collecting before the baby arrives. You will have nothing left to do except read them.
