I can get a year's viewing under my belt in three months.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00647929951322724618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550214407269277609.post-1467232701881169332015-01-15T23:06:03.040+11:002015-01-15T23:06:03.040+11:00I saw this one at Mount Vic flicks this afternoon....I saw this one at Mount Vic flicks this afternoon.

I enjoyed it. I was not overly disturbed with the character of the man or his portrayed oafishness. A flawed hero is a more believable one.

BTW the housekeeper had psoriasis. The end of movie seemed contrived ... after all he lived with Mrs Booth for 18 years ... the housekeeper would have got that figured out well before his death. I am sure that another film could be created that shows his character in a different light from this. There is a scene where Turner sits for a daugerrotype, towards the end. It is towards the end, and is a rather lengthy scene with Mrs Booth eventually roped in. So, IU went looking for the image. I found a drawing of Turner aged abt 40. I found a death-mask that they proved was Mr T. But I have not been able to find the photograph. I wonder if it exists.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00647929951322724618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550214407269277609.post-10157420825913731672014-12-22T10:18:00.780+11:002014-12-22T10:18:00.780+11:00I love Turner's paintings yet I knew nothing a...I love Turner's paintings yet I knew nothing about the man. It is not sheer time-passing, middle-brow entertainment. You are constantly asking yourself: where is this film going?; what is this film really about?Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00647929951322724618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550214407269277609.post-49393440463007060682014-12-21T23:43:32.710+11:002014-12-21T23:43:32.710+11:00I think my Daughter and SIL will like this film.
